The morning wake-up call

We were surrounded by these noisy little creatures. You do not need any other sort of wake-up device in Africa. I believe they are called White-browed sparrow weavers.

The Chocolate River

Not its real name, but that's what I like to call it. Really, Ewaso Nyiro (not sure of the spelling). It is in Samburu, a long and strong river - even more powerful and swollen because of the recent rains.

More eles!

Although 2011 was a very bad year for wild eles - lots of poaching making it the worst in decades according to TRAFFIC - we managed to see many while in Kenya. This is one of the eles that visited the waterhole at our Sweetwaters camp.
