Reflections and flybys ( The Global Rainbow )
With so many photos taken of the Global Rainbow event this week it was always going to be difficult to come up with something different to show. So here is my effort, the faint trail crossing the display is an aircraft coming in to land at Newcastle airport.

The castle and the shower
We had a short but heavy shower blow through yesterday afternoon which produced a large rainbow. As soon as I saw it I grabbed my camera and headed out of the house to try and get a shot. I knew it wouldnt last very long, so I headed the very short distance to Warkworth Castle. By the time I got myself and my gear out of the car the rainbow had faded but I did manage to capture this image of the castle and the shower cloud as it moved away.
This image is a combination of two exposures, one exposed for the foreground and one exposed for the sky. The two images where combined manually in Photoshop Elements 9 using layers and masks before boosting contrast slightly then resizing and a slight sharpening.

Sunset Skyscape
Left work this evening looking at a very promising sky. It was obvious it was going to be a good sunset, only trouble was I couldn't find any sort of foreground interest for a shot. It would have been rude not to photograph such a great end to the day so I elected to only shoot the sky. This is a 5 shot panorama to give some idea of the beautiful sky we had!
This image is a five shot panorama. The images where combined using Photomerge in Adobe Photoshop Elements 9.

Two tree hill
A very quick capture as I was leaving work on Friday evening. The sunset never developed as much as it promised. This is another location I have been meaning to try and capture but this time of year is not ideal for the placement of the sun at sunset.

Through the barn
On my way up to work yesterday I decided to visit a location I pass every day. This old barn sits close to the side of the road and is easy to access. I really liked the way the low sun was shining through the old window so decided to use this as the main focal point of this image. The area around it is quite open so I think it will be a good location for future visits.
