101/365 Back to School

"Good teaching is one-fourth preparation and three-fourths theatre." ~ Gail Goldwin

25 August 2011: This week a lot of kids returned to school for a new school year. And this week I ended my summer teaching session (Saturday) and immediately began my first fall term (Monday). Needless to say, it has been a week of school (bleh).

p.s. As both an EFL teacher and an adjunct professor of English, I can personally vouch for the validity of the opening quote ...

A great photo for back to school. Nice composition and colors! Cool bokeh balls that appeared to the left :)
      Are you a teacher?

I'd love to see you in action! Sadly many teachers don't fit the bill for this quote!

Nice perspective and bold, colorful tones. Perfect for "back to school," Carlita! And an English professor, eh? That's wonderful! I was an English major, but haven't finished college yet (@46)... I may never, but I loved writing short stories and poetry while I was there. I've been out of the writing habit for awhile, but photography is currently filling my need for creativity. I do need to start journaling again, though. I definitely miss it!

I expect the smell of newly sharpened pencils are a turn on.....they are for me. :0)

Thank you, Barb. And, yes! Yes I am. :)

My students like when I tell stories best ... and do voices. ;)

: Thank you, all! This was a fun photo to take ... and a surprise one. I had to get a bit creative with my 365, but I'm glad I did. :)

How did you know? The smell of the back to school aisle is pure intoxication for me! :) Reminds me of that line in You've Got Mail about a bouquet of newly-sharpened pencils ... Love it. Thank you, Victoria. :)

I'm so glad this has meaning for you. Thank you for your comments and support, Ruby. :)

Photography is currently filling my need for creativity, too. I haven't journaled in ages! :D So glad we've met here, Robin. You sound like a kindred spirit ...

Thank you so much, Heidi. I try to challenge myself each time I take a photo to take it in a way or from an angle that's different than the one I usually see it with. Sometimes it works ... LOL :)

this would have been a fine pic on it's own....but the lens flare adds so much to enhance the color and feel of this well schooled image! Great work !

      and : Thank you. :D

Aaron, I agree with you. That lens flare really adds that little extra pizazz, which is why it got put there. :D It was so nice to have you visit my photostreatm. Thank you for the thoughtful comment -- and the compiment! :)
