the comic is brilliant. the resulting Digg submissions are absolutely hysterical.

Thanks Dot. What I find most amusing is that despite being mistitled, without description, and a first-and-only submission on the back of almost no friends network and a lot of enemies, Jentrax still managed to get 16 Diggs. Had he submitted it properly....well, he might have to reassess his view that it takes a conspiracy to get to get a lot of diggs.

combined with the following submission, it's just so ... either the submitter is so completely oblivious that he/she/it can't see themselves in the troll personas in these comics, or, they are incredibly witty and were doing that just to be totally meta about it.
sometimes i give people way too much credit.

I think he was aware the joke was on him.
It's purposeful trolling though. Jen and his fellow anti-elite allies are essentially correct in the assumption that there's two ways to get ahead on Digg: a) throw in a lot of time and effort b) lower the standards by eliminating the current elite. The easier task is readily apparent too. Matching the time, effort and skill folks like BabyMan and Zai throw into Digg is no simple task.
What they seem to miss is that the system is hierarchical by design. Kill the king and another prince will just move up to take his place. The problem is the current ruling elite has been arrived at naturally by course of their labor. It's unlikely that an artificially empowered new ruling class would meet with the usurpers tastes any better. In fact, it would probably be even less appetizing to them as I think about the Digg "middle class" list which would stand to benefit most.

Hehe, you found popfail. I'll remember to let you know the next tie I feature one of your comics on there. It's amazing how you track down all the references to your comics.
