Recently came back from three weeks in Vietnam. I met this elder who was in charge of a fishing village in the Halong Bay area. After he had let us visit his house in the village and kept us from being eaten by a frenzied dog, I asked him (well, with pointing nodding and smiling) if I could make a portrait of him - he nodded and was very pleased with the result that I showed him.

I hear that this area is very touristy in the winter season, but when you go there during the summer it's actually very private from time to time, and you can get around without interfering too much with the local life in the bay.
