Wow, it has been a long time since I posted here on flickr, so I thought I would post a new picture that I took of my friends. A lot has changed and happened since I last uploaded. I moved to Nashville, TN and I am loving it here, I have met many new amazing people and although I miss Southern California and my family, I know this is where I am suppose to be right now.

Now on to the photo, this is a photo of my good friend Greg and Erica Swaringen and their 5 kids. They live on post at Ft. Campbell, KY and they have one chaotic house at times! Greg is a Chaplain's Assistant in the Army and Erica is a housewife that homeschools all 5 kids. They are all a crazy bunch with so many personalities, that I wanted to capture them all individually and make a fun family portrait at the same time.

I had to shoot each person individually and composite them all together as trying to position and keep 5 kids sitting and cooperating at the same time is a challenge. So Dad and baby were shot first, then we did a photo of each kid and mom was last. I also did a shot of just the room by itself and the table and then used photoshop to put it all together.

Enjoy,
Hector

The Lost Bride...

The Lost Bride...

Lighting:

Profoto AcuteB in 4'x8' Softbox Camera Left

Background was Shot and Provided by: Evidence

This shot is a composite that I put together a few days ago. I had seen the background photo one day while browsing through <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/-evidence-/"Evidence stream, and I immediately knew what kind of shot I had in mind for it. So, I took the portrait of the model hoping that Mike, would allow me to use his photo as a background. Thank you so much Mike, for allowing me to use it, it really makes the shot and your photo was perfect! If you guys haven't gone to check out his work, do it and I guarantee you will NOT be disappointed!

Enjoy,
Hector

I want to apologize to all my contacts for being MIA for so long, there has been a lot going on and I have been busy with that. Moore and Cruz is also going to be expanding and we will be opening up another studio in Nashville, TN sometime next year. I will be moving that way before the end of this year, while Steve will be staying here in Orange County. If you are near Nashville, I would love to get a chance to get together and do some shooting together!

Also, I know that my PRO account expired so a lot of my photos are no longer able to be seen, I apologize for that. When I get around to it, I will hopefully buy another year of PRO service.

Enjoy,
Hector

Be Safe Brother...Our American Soldier

Be Safe Brother...Our American Soldier

I went to visit my Brother-In-Law and and my Sister last month before he deployed back to Afghanistan. I had an amazing time with them and I got to see how God has been working in their lives individually and as a couple. Alex, is an upstanding man and I am glad that my sister chose such a hard-working courageous person to spend the rest of her life with.

Alex, is a mechanic for the Apache Helicopters, these things are no joke and you DO NOT WANT to be on the receiving end of their wrath. He is now back in Afghanistan as I write about and share this photo with you all. He is serving our country proudly and valiantly, and it is because of men and women like him that we all sleep so soundly at night. I pray that God keeps him and all of our troops safe, I cannot begin to imagine what goes through one's mind when going on these missions. You leave your home, family, way of life, and everything you love at home to put your life on the line so that others may enjoy freedom. Freedom we all take for granted at one time or another, please remeber that many like Alex have come before him, and will follow after him. Support our troops and always remeber to thank them, for they and their families put their future and their lives on the line, so that you and your families will have a future.

God Bless,
Hector
