Perhaps to help with the menace mentioned a few photos ago, a Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress came to Manistee the other day.
I liked this for its interesting angle. At the distance that this photo was taken (close to the wing tip), the plane's tapered wings look quite parallel. And you almost cannot see the cockpit, and the engines line up with the front of the fuselage. Not planned, it just came out that way. (But you can see all five of the six gun positions mentioned at the preview photo.)
Apparently it's the largest place the US had when WWII started in 1941. See more about the B-17. Search Flickr for B-17, or better yet, Yankee Lady, and you'll find plenty more photos.
