Watercolour done on Saunders Waterford 200LB rough with W&N & M Graham watercolours. 22" X 15". This is the first proper pleine aire painting of 2012 and the perfect day for it ! getting in some practice for the art courses which start soon. A very comfortable & pleasurable day with good lighting ,excellent subject and friendly passers by,

A very challenging piece with emphasis made on the twisted forms, ironwork colouration and portraying the history through over a century of weed,,fishermans nets,barnacles and mussel build up on the old Girl.

Up for another challenge ? here is one of the many scenes to be found at Borde Hill Gardens and i thought this would make a nice watercolour challenge .
