A Poetic Death

A Poetic Death

The most interesting things appear when I am completely lost for creativity.
I went out to shoot without any concepts or ideas and I came across this dead bird. I wanted to do something very simple with it to portray death as something beautiful, and natural. Every life comes to an end at some point and it isn't something taboo or morbid, but something very natural and even beautiful in its own way.

I am officially on Mardi Gras break, the Louisiana schools get off a week of classes.
So during this preceding week I'll be shooting a lot, and already have several shoots planned.

The Forager

The Forager

I spent my entire weekend outdoors.
It's nice and relaxing to go out and lay in the grass, walk along deer trails, or sit by a pond. All day Sunday my friend Jack and I did just that. We went not having any photo ideas and left with this picture. If you sit and relax long enough the ideas will come to you. Honor your creativity with patience.

We found the mushrooms along on the of deer trails (the most vivid mushrooms I've ever seen) and also found the stump, which has a carpet of green moss on it. We brought both back to the opening where we set up for this picture. Special thank you to Jack for helping with this.

Self Realization

Self Realization

The concept of self-realization states that it is the ultimate goal of a human being to attain permanent happiness and complete independence and freedom from all worldly bondage, and that true happiness is then the result of self-realization.

A Peaceful State of Mind

A Peaceful State of Mind

My beautiful cousin, Emma.
I was finally able to get out and shoot this weekend. The last few weeks have been so hectic and crazy that I barely even remember what was going on. My personal life as taken a 180, but hopefully for the better. This weekend has been the first in a long time that I was able to sit down and truly relax and get my thoughts together. Hence the tranquility in this picture. We shot throughout the weekend but I felt this one picture, in particular, matched my mood. Plus I find it to be gorgeous in it's own simplicity.
Like I have been saying, I plan on doing some big shoots very, very soon.
Thank you for those who have been patiently waiting.

I promise to bring you some amazing pictures with time.

Oxygen

Oxygen

I've been behind with everything.
I still haven't done a blog post on my project 365, along with the other projects I've been working on.
Ever since the end of my 365 I've been slowly taking a break from shooting, the ideas and concepts are still being made and recorded but I haven't had the time to go out and do them. But that's all changing, I plan on shooting a lot in the next few weeks along with the possibility of a book of some sorts.
Still have lots to do with colleges and such. But I didn't forget or give up on things.
Just been behind a little.

I will try to get a blog post up within the week along with some more postings :)
Blog post is up and can be viewed HERE
Hope everyone is doing well.
