CHARLES "LUCKY LINDY" LINDBERGH and his SPIRIT OF ST. LOUIS -- A Rare 3-D Photo of The Man and his Plane
Ca.1927 (but after May 20th) stereoview of Charles Lindbergh and his "Spirit of St. Louis" airplane in the days after he was thrown into the world's spotlight for becoming the first person to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean.
Both he and his wife, Anne Morrow went on to live influential lives, though the tragic kidnapping and murder of their first child overshadowed the many triumphs they experienced.

Another great image.
The original Ryan monoplane is in the Smithsonian, I saw it there a long time ago and there was a replica (used in the movie) in the Henry Ford museum in Dearborn, Michigan.
I didn't realize how tall Lindbergh was, must have been pretty cramped on the trans atlantic flight.

Hi DCI. I also saw it in the Smithsonian back in 2000. Took my kids there. They were more interested in Canada's IMAX installation, and the Souvenir Shop.
Lindbergh was taller than me at least. He checked in at 6' 3" (1.91 m)

OS, the IMAX is one hell of a system and some of the places the camera operators film in would make even the strongest flinch.
As for the souvenir shops, I must confess I did purchase a few items in the George Eastman House last year. Not every day I get to visit a shrine.
