THOMAS EDISON IN 3-D

Thomas Edison in his lab, ca1910-20. Depth of Field seems a bit off, or else Edison moved a bit during the relatively slow "available light" exposure. Still, a dignified image in deep 3-D that heals itself sufficiently when viewed correctly.

Edison seems to be much older here than in the others I've posted. But, he is still puttering around his Lab in a bow-tie, just like in his earlier days. Although he was famous as the most prolific inventor of his time, I'll bet he also drove his wife nuts. And, being a guy, he probably spent at least part of his time INTENTIONALLY blowing things up (when nobody was looking).

Looks great in 3-D. have fun free-viewing one of the greatest inventors of the age, or if you are a flickr Anaglyph Wiz......"Conversion or Bust" as they say.

Original gelatin silver print stereo print. Probably photographed by his friend and fellow New Jersey photographer James Ricalton, who was also the Chief Photographer for Underwood & Underwood. This print was made ca. mid-1920s from the original Underwood negative, who had sold their stock to Keystone View Company ca.1921.

I took your advice and made an anaglyph. It was a lot easier than I thought it would be. The free software is at www.callipygian.com/3D/holmes2ana.html and works very well.

I took several and did my best with them. They are posted on my account. www.flickr.com/photos/rea_family/2651951813/ is the Edison picture. www.flickr.com/photos/rea_family/2651951729/ is the man under the tree, and www.flickr.com/photos/rea_family/2652779488/ is the three people making ceramic vase. Some came out a lot better than others. It might be me, free software, old images, or any combination.
