Cat's Meow (painting) Cat (poem after Carl Sandburg's "Fog")

Newer Older

Painting. Acrylic on wood plaque. This cat is supremely self-satisfied; and like many of the cats I've known (especially my late Siamese, Baby), he thinks he's the cat's meow!

(If Sandburg's " fog comes/on little cat feet," then why can't my cat creep on little fog feet?) So here's my take on "Fog":

Cat (With apologies to the late Carl Sandburg)

The cat creeps
on little fog feet.

She eases sneakily
into laps and cupboards
in silent undulations
and then moves on.

Fabulous and fun painting and poem dear! The heart shaped nose made me smile! Your poem is beautiful, but I had to laugh because my Siamese kitty meows loudly and consistently and walks with little stomping steps! : )
    Have a great day!
