Traición de Judas

La necesidad de acabar con Jesús apremiaba ya que era el último día de
la Pascua y durante esta fiesta el procurador romano aumentaba la
vigilancia, porque entendía que las multitudes eran un movimiento
social de auténtica convulsión. Jesús siempre estaba entre ellas y de
ahí la dificultad para apresarlo.
Era miércoles y en el palacio del sumo sacerdote Caifás se reunieron
los sumos sacerdotes para deliberar sobre la forma de prender y matar
al Mesías.
Fue entonces cuando Judas Iscariote se dirigió a los sumos sacerdotes
diciéndoles “¿Qué me queréis dar y yo os lo entregaré?” Acordaron
treinta monedas de Plata.
Este relato lo protagonizan tres elementos dispuestos a matar a un
hombre inocente en beneficio propio:
-Por un lado la religión, es decir, los sumos sacerdotes ante el temor
de un cisma, de que Roma acabase con ellos porque Pilatos no los
soportaba, de la destrucción o utilización del templo por los romanos,
etc.
-Por otro lado Roma, no había logrado romanizar plenamente la
provincia por ser un lugar muy conflictivo y obviamente no permitiría
ningún altercado durante la Pascua.
-Por último Judas, prototipo de hombre que se debate entre lo material
y lo inmaterial, entre el amor al oro y a Jesús, no podría explicarse
de otra manera que después de haberlo vendido, devolviese el dinero y
se ahorcase.
