New shoes

New shoes

The Mrs. had a great week at the shoe store. She wanted pics to show her friends on FB and I geeked out and made a production out of it. I'm glad I did. Learned a TON, had a blast, tried lots of new things, and ended up with some good ones.

Set up was:
White plywood with a piece of glass as a platform to stand on. Black cloth about 5 feet behind the feet.

For this one, 2 speedlights were at about 3 and 6 o'clock with 1" grids for separation and side lighting. Key was a monolight with DIY beauty dish about 3 feet away. I was shooting pretty strong on the power as I needed to get F11 to keep it nice and sharp. The only PS is dust removal from the glass and blemish touch up.

White plywood with a piece of glass as a platform to stand on. Black cloth about 5 feet behind the feet.

For this one, 2 speedlights were at about 3 and 6 o'clock with reflective umbrellas for separation and side lighting. Key was a monolight with DIY beauty dish about 3 feet away shot through a 3x5 ripstop nylon diffuser. The specular highlights were kicking my ass. I was shooting pretty strong on the power as I needed to get F11 to keep it nice and sharp. The only PS is dust removal from the glass and blemish touch up.

Playing around with the new OnONE Iphone remote. First app worth the 20 bucks.

Two light set up. White ripstop nylon behind me with a 580 blasting away to give me a nice white background, and a DIY Beauty dish on a monolight as a main light. No edits, at all.
