The O-2A Skymaster was built by Cessna starting in 1967. The aircraft was built to supplement the O-1 Bird Dog forward air controller aircraft in Vietnam. The O-2 carried rockets, flares, and other light ordnance. O-2 was used to mark targets with smoke rockets, direct air strikes, and assess damage. The O-2A has an engine system with props on the front and back ends--push-pull configuration. The aircraft in the photograph was built in 1969.
