1893-Built Savage Gallopers

Beamish Museum's latest, and most welcome addition, is this set of Victorian gallopers, built by Frederick Savage of Kings Lynn in 1893. The carousel, known as the Sally Beach set, has recently been purchased by the museum from it's one previous owner family (for 116 years!) and is widely regarded as one of the best sets in the country in terms of it's originality. It comes complete with a contemporary Gavioli 87-key organ, one of the few remaining examples built in Manchester.
