    Roman mosaics from the Univ. of Penn.'s Museum of Anthropology and Archaeology. The name for those guys in the nave (boat) is nauta (pl. -ae), one of the few first declension nouns in Latin with a masculine gender. They appear to have a following wind, or "secundus."
