Bush Stone-curlew

Bush Stone-curlew

The bush stone-curlew is a beautiful large ground dwelling bird. It's mainly nocturnal and specialises in hunting small grassland animals such as frogs, spiders, insects, lizards and small mammals. Their calls are drawn out, mournful and spine tingling creepy sound. When I first heard their calls at night, I thought someone or some animals were screaming in pain, lol. It's not the sound you want to hear when you are at home alone at night.

Happy New Year!!

Happy New Year!!

My little sheltie Lilly began January 1st walking, with lots of exercise, agility training and play. She used to be scared, worried and unsure sometimes... but she made a new years resolution and decided to leave all fear behind her. It is going to be a wonderful and amazing new year for her.

Lilly is 14 month old now. Isn't she beautiful?

Spangled Drongo

Spangled Drongo

Three to four drongos are visiting in my backyard lately. Twisting and turning.... their acrobatic flights is amazing! This drongo (above) finally stopped moving and started posing for me. Its black plumage is iridescent with blue and purple highlights.

Support the campaign -Ban Live Export!

Support the campaign -Ban Live Export!

I have never thought that I would post a cow's photo here as I have been a passionate bird photographer (that's what I think, lol). The reason I posted this photo was I have recently received an email from RSPCA Australia re: Ban Live Export. Our Australian animals such as cattles, sheep and goats are exported live for slaughter to Indonesia. I could not watch the video without crying. I watched how those animals were tortured by humans and suffered very slow painful death. So why don't we take action now.
