I took this at an abandoned farm. I took 4 other frames that day but this one best represents my state of mind or the pictures I want to make. The other frames were more classic composition, but I felt they were too classic. The type of picture anyone would take if they walked upon that scene. I've had photographer block lately. I've been struggling to take pictures that excite and that I feel are a bit more original - less derivative. So this chaotic mess of overgrown, branch, vine and weed is beautiful too me. Rebellious.

I took this while walking around an abandoned barn near my home. I have fixed feelings about ruin porn in general, some of it I find fascinating, some photographers do it well. But with all things photography these days, it seems to be a bit overdone.

I'm searching for new ideas, a new focus. Floating around a bit right now.

I love the Portra films. They render color so beautifully.
