Tranquility

Tranquility

Apologies for the cheesy title, but I couldn't think of much else for this shot. The 4th shot from recent trip to Turkey, taken around 5.45am before the sun rose above the mountains.

It's another gorgeous day in England :-). Have a good one wherever you are and I'll look forward to catching up with your streams soon :-).

Tech Stuff: 22mm, 1.6s at F13, ISO 100.

Sunrise - Moonset

Sunrise - Moonset

The third shot from our recent trip to Turkey. This was taken around 5.30am. The sun had not yet risen above the mountains but it's warm glow illuminated the boats from one side, whilst the moon gave the sky the deep blue colour from the opposite side. This is the only shot that I have ever taken which was evenly illuminated by both sun and moon! Have a great day everyone :-)

Tech Stuff: 12mm, F8, 10s @ ISO 100 - Almost straight out of camera, just a very slight gradient on the sky, to even up the exposure with the foreground. I really should get some decent ND grad filters, but what I love about this time of day is that the exposure of the sky and foreground balance almost perfectly :-)

Sun Lounge

Sun Lounge

The next in the series from our recent holiday to Turkey. I woke up early one morning so sneaked to the lounge to capture a few shots of the sun rising over the bay. Even at 6.30am I acquired a little audience of hotel staff, which was kind of sweet! Have a great Friday everyone :-)

Tech Stuff: Three bracketed shots to capture detail in the highlights and shadows blended in Photomatix (a rarity for me as I feel that it can often create horrors!)... The colours are pretty much as I remember them, with the blinding sun just rising above the mountain.

Moonlight Shadow

Moonlight Shadow

Last week we were going to go to the Cotswolds but the weather was so bad that we cancelled two days before and got a last minute deal to Marmaris in Turkey! We arrived around midnight and the full moon lit up the entire bay, casting deep shadows under the sun loungers! Luckily the weather in Turkey was perfect and the locals were equally warm and friendly, if rather pushy! I got out with the camera a few times so there's more to come. Have a great evening :-)

Tech Stuff: 251s at F9.0 ISO 100 which slightly overexposed the shot relative to the scene. Very little PP, just some cloning to remove some hotspots and faint star trails.

Five or Six?

Five or Six?

Wow, what is going on with the weather at the moment? I had to shelter for around 45 mins before the skies cleared and I could get this shot. 10 minutes later it was pouring! At least it makes for some interesting skies :-)

Have a great weekend everyone, and if you're in England, don't get too wet :-)
