Last week a friend and I went to the Apple Store to check out an iPhone for her (alas, not for moi). I spotted this great rusty Chevy truck in the parking lot and just HAD to snap a few pics. Unfortunately it was a bright sunny afternoon so the few pics I took had horrible hot spots on the chrome parts. I was sooooooooooo disappointed 'cuz this truck was REALLY cool. :-( Out of the 10 photos I took this is the only one that turned out. As luck would have it this was the very LAST pic I snapped.

Sometimes I just can't resist posting a sunny sunflower — I've got a bunch of these sitting in the archives. Although it still is OFFICIALLY winter, you certainly wouldn't know it from the temps we've been having around these parts. 70 + degrees today and tomorrow (I know, I know...quit rubbing it in). Wherever you may be, I hope you enjoy this little reminder of warmer days ahead. :-)

Went for a little walk in Armstrong Redwoods State Reserve earlier this week — one of my absolute FAVORITE places on the planet. I got lucky with this shot...REALLY lucky. It seems that no matter what time of day or year I visit, the sun is always shining too brightly for me to get a good photo without a big old hot spot. I tried snapping a pic on our hike in, with no luck — just too dang bright...as always. Well, as luck would have it, on our return trip the skies above were more overcast. This is the very first time I have been able to get a decent pic of this magical spot. :-)

Leaves. Yep...combing the archives once again. So sorry, my flickr friends if leaves bore you.
I just can't get enough of them! ;-/

This was snapped on a visit to Whole Foods one fine Autumn day. I spotted these beauties in the parking lot and took some pics before going into the store. Good thing I did, because when I came back out to my car there was another car that had parked right where I had been shooting...on top of MY leaves...lol. ;-p Had that car been there when I arrived, or had I waited to shoot some photos AFTER shopping, I would have missed these beautiful leaves altogether.

So...today's lesson...which is my oft repeated mantra to you (and as a reminder to myself) — carpe diem!
