Central Fire Station - Rangoon

Sule Pagoda Road, Rangoon.

Designed by United Engineers Limited, this is a great example of decorative Edwardian architecture adapted for a functional public building. The watchtower is a particularly fine example and it would allow the lookout a panaramic view over the flat city. The building's full name "Rangoon Municipality Central Fire Station" was previously seen above the four central doorways. It remains in use to this day.
