||my favorite view of my favorite city
Taken on 11/11/11 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil on a gorgeous full moonlit night.
Although one of the tags say HDR this is a single exposure shot with the D700 and 14-24mm f/2.8 combo.
Then tweaked in Aperture 3, then Photomatix 4, then Photoshop 5. Get the progression? :)

Hurricane Irene is coming...
was sitting at work and noticed some flashes a few days ago, walked outside and watched as this magnificent cloud structure started to form.
Then to my very delight a 10 minute lightning storm ensued right over my place of business. I got drenched, the D700 got soaked (and handled it like a champ) but i got this great photo that even made it to our company's website: www.carvision.com
I can't wait for the actual storm to hit. I'll be out there shooting photos, but this time with a weather guard on the D700, she's only partially weatherproof ;)

Storm's a-brewing
stopped to take pictures of the storm developing (pictures of that coming soon) and noticed my car looked purty the way it was parked. I had the 14-24 on the D7oo so I shot a 5 bracketed exposure and this is what came out of photomatix pro.

Sunset Empire State Building
It had just rained in NY minutes prior to sunset, which usually means amazing sunsets photography opportunity. I was lucky enough to be on the roof of 30Rock when it happened an was able to capture this amazing view of the Empire State Building bathed in sunsetting orange with some drama clouds in the background.
Probably one of my favorite pictures i have ever taken.
