Coast Guard hovercraft YVR 1987

I was fortunate to go out on the hovercraftr to set up some shore stations near the Fraser River Delta front near Vancouver International Airport (YVR). Very exciting. Now we would do all our navigation with GPS -- no need for shore stations or hovercraft strips.

Calgary Fairmont Palliser Hotel 2012

Calgary Fairmont Palliser Hotel 2012

I love to stay at the Palliser

I often photography the room when I arrive as they are so nice. I keep a Canon S95 in my pocket and a tiny 4" high tripod in my bag and make a few panorama photos stitched together in Microsoft ICE. I wonder if the staff know that I often post these photos and give me especially nice rooms.

Badwater Salt Flats, Death Valley, CA 2012

Badwater Salt Flats, Death Valley, CA 2012

I was fortunate to attend a Hasselblad workshop given by Peter Lorber and Courtenay Gilbert in Death Valley, California. We spent the week shooting from before sunrise until after sunset at a large variety of locations from below sealevel to 6400 ft. The digital Hasselblad was a dream to use and the images are stunning in full size (40MP). We also did a lot of panorama photography. Amazing trip, Peter’s workshops are highly recommended.
