From Stryn, western Norway

From Stryn, western Norway

I was heading up the hills from the fjord at Oppheim, Stryn, Norway, when I passed this old farm site. The light was rapidly changing as a thick layer of cumulus clouds were drifting northwards. For a moment I regretted not packing the DSLR, but my small and handy Leica served me nicely :-)

Farm in Hardangerfjord, Norway

Farm in Hardangerfjord, Norway

On my way up the steep hillside of Årsand, Hardangerfjord, I paused for a moment to capture the slanting rays of the sun, as it broke through the rapidly changing cloud covers.

"Seven sisters" waterfall - Geiranger, Norway

"Seven sisters" waterfall - Geiranger, Norway

The "seven sisters" waterfalls, and the farm "Knivsflaa" to the right of the waterfalls. The small farm was abandoned in 1898 due to the potential danger of a large rock perching perilously above the farm (the rock however, has still not fallen). The area surrounding the farm was used for the harvesting of hay up until the 1960s.
The tallest of the seven waterfalls, by the way, is reported to have a free fall of 250 metres (820 ft).
