Lichen perfume: Oak Moss

Lichens have been harvested for perfume for centuries. This species, Evernia prunastri, is widespread in Eurasia and parts of North America. It excretes volatile chemicals that are useful as components in perfume. The common name of this lichen when used in perfume is Oak Moss.
