Huaca Las Ventanas Pomac Forest en el bosque de Pomac

Besides the archeologist we were the only people at this site!

Exploring the area around Tucume and the lodge at Los Horcones we went to the forest at Pomac, in this algarrobo forest there are several archeological places, a well as a big hill that we climed to get a great view of the area.

Then we visited the museum of Sican near the town of Ferrenafe were some of the findings of the Pomac Forest sites are located, a great new museum I must say.

For lunch we headed to Lambayeque to a place called El Rincon del Pato were we tried the ceviche de pato or duck cebiche, tamales, conchas negras, and cabrito norteno, all yum.

Then we visited the amazing Lord of Sipan museum one of the best archeological museum we have been too, and possibly the best in Peru.

We are trying to get more people to travel to this area, as most travellers to Peru prefer to visit the more well known places, Cuzco, Puno, and Arequipa, but I hope in the future we can get more people to visit this part of the country, there is nothing like visit an ancient archeological site and be there with little or no people as opposed to the thousands in Machu Picchu.
