the swimmer, the girls & the wedding party

This is one I'd really appreciate some feedback on - I think I'm to close to it to tell objectively. Bearing in mind that this is always going to be blurry due to the heavy water vapour and dim light, do you feel the treatment works? Should there be more sky? Are the colours too strong (the original was quite pastel coloured, as you can see in the previous photo in my stream)?

wow, i like this a lot. i don't think the colours are too strong ... the burst of orange in the top rh corner is lovely. i also like the corner of sand at bottom right. and the blur is wonderful. well done!

I think this actually works quite well... might have had the left corner subject a little farther to the "power position" perhaps.. but a minor thing. The colours work and in fact I might even be tempted to bump them up using the LAB mode in Photoshop as without the clarity, the colours and shapes become the important aspect of the composition. Just my .02¢

I'm not sure. I like the pastels in the other and the rich colours in this one. (I agree they could even go further).

The blur seems a little too much for me, at least in the foreground. Have you considered graduating the blur from bottom to top?

Just my taste though I suppose. 8-)

I am like all of this
the blur... as though I'm seeing through barely-opened eyes
the color.. of tales and stories
the gesture of the foreground figure walking away, legs crossing is perfect
the two huddles of people in the distance
      all of this!

i dont when you cut pictures and you can actually tell its croped from an original.
i enjoy so much the effect.... its appriciate it a lot.... i think you reached a point.... just the crop!.... :S

thanks for your feedback kvaluet, though i'm very surprised you can tell it's a crop (it's very very minimal - it's not from a medium format, perhaps you got that impression from the previous photo where i mimicked that holga look? and the crop matches the standard sizing produced by my camera - i just hadn't learnt to clone back in those days and there was some clutter of signs that i wanted to remove)
