    Hopes and dreams ignite the night during the Lantern Festival, held
    near the Chinese New Year in Pingsi, a town in northern Taiwan.
    "People write their wishes on paper lanterns, light them, and launch
    them into the sky in the belief that they will come true,"

      This is a great shot!
      When I went to Ping Xi last year I kept trying, but never managed to get a good one - those lanterns rise up fast into the sky!

      How high can these go? Last night we were outdoors, having a
      pitfire in our backyard, when a HUGE orange glow came over us, and
      we literally ran (as fast as my disabled legs could go)... thinking a
      plane was on fire and was going to come down on us! NOT FUNNY!
      Someone told my husband today it likely was a Chinese flying lantern?
