Lady Vervaine
Absence // A Short Story // 1 of 5
I can’t sleep tonight. I get back to my flat and you’re not there and the silence is so loud I want to scream. I try to fill my head with music, TV, the internet, but none of it works. I’m alone. Completely alone. That’s what the silence is telling me, over and over, louder than I can bear.
I go out, and walk the streets. I tell myself I’m looking for noise, lights, action; anything to take my mind off it.
But the truth is, I’m looking for you.
