Trap/Neuter/Release continues~
I don't mean to bore you with all these cat pics but am mainly uploading them for my "Woodland WA Cats" set. I went back today to check on male cat #1....he's fine.
I thought as long as I was there, I might as well trap another. [ See below]. This cat pictured here looks to be about six months old....and was meowing for some food I had brought.
FYI
My sister's "big b-day bash" is tomorrow....and with
trapping cats, I haven't had time to go out and take pics. Hopefully,
all will be back to normal after the weekend. Have a wonderful weekend
everyone.

2.
Cat number #2. Another male...'caught this morning and is now at the vet awaiting neutering..
3.

When I arrived this morning, six cats came pouring out of the "cat house" I provided. I brought a waterproof tarp to cover it with in case it rains. At least some of them can stay warm and dry inside.

At least they have each other to stay warm thanks to you providing shelter.
I adore the first kitty by the way.

Bless you, Rebecca. You are an inspiration. These cats are beautiful. Are they all feral, or do some of them approach you?

Wow you are so busy busy busy! So happy to see you were able to capture another. It's too bad you don't have a couple of other people helping you - I would gladly donate my time if I lived nearby.
Try to relax a bit so that you can enjoy your sister's birthday party. You definitely deserve some downtime!

Wow - you are on a roll ----I'm really glad you have a birthday to go to---some relief from your relief work ----
I trapped "momma cat" this afternoon, took her to a local vet for a 2/3 year rabies shot at a local vet - no bargain at $35 dollars - she let me pet her while she was in the trap - as she does when she comes half way in my classroom window in the morning ----she is so ready for a calm and very patient home ---- anyway congratulations on the ongoing great work from a fellow cat / animal lover

Not boring AT ALL! I get so irritated when people get pets and then don't have them spayed and neutered. Just DON'T get them if you can't care them is what I say. Okay, I'll shutup:)

It's wonderful what you are doing and I was gone much of the day. Was going through old photo books to find film photos of the cats we had and dogs and family. At some time I want to post some.
I would really like a calico kitten or cat but hubby says no more cats.
I guess this old house is not the best set up.

THANK YOU EVERYONE !!! Male cat #2 was successfully neutered today and will be returned tomorrow before my sister's party.
@ LeapFrog!
This male cat's front paw [ the one that has the claws showing] is unique....having extra "toes". I forget what it's called...but it will be an easy way to identify him in the future. He was quite upset when I trapped him.....but my vet said he was well behaved.
@ nd2495
Wonderful thing you did by taking momma cat to the vet for her rabies shot....too bad there isn't someone out there that would like to adopt her and make her an indoor/outdoor cat...esp as we go into the winter. Kudo;s to you for keeping her fed.

These cats really look neglected and seem to be quite happy that someone cares for them. The kitty in the main photo is very cute and seems to be talking to you.

I doubt I'll enjoy the party as I am the designated photographer. ...which always keeps me busy ...so can't just sit and relax. I hired a performer to show up to surprise her...."Elvis" !

The young cat is beautiful....but what a live he has been born into. Bless him and them all. Thankfully, there are people like you who are going that big giant step forward and helping. Thanks for all you do.
Enjoy your sister's b-day bash.

If I were your husband, I'd be nervous...what am I saying I am nervous, my wife just informed me she's fostering another cat that is due to have kittens. Last Christmas I got a cat for Christmas and the year before that I got a cat for my birthday. Hey here's an idea, doesn't your sister need a few cats?????
Red~Star (42 months ago | reply)
@ bud_marschner
Bless your wife's heart....she's a real cat lover like me. Fostering cats like she does is just awesome. You make me laugh....your wife is good at gift giving.
The ONLY reason my husband is onboard with me trapping/neutering these cats is because he knows I'm NOT keeping them. Ha ! My sister is too irresponsible to have pets of any kind.

Happy Birthday to your sister!
These cats are so beautiful! So. . . there seems to be a bit of Hemingway in them? Wow! Quite an interesting group. They seem to be quite smart to figure out the 'cat house' Good for them.
Again, the work you are doing is angelic. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Red~Star (42 months ago | reply)
@ LeapFrog !!
Yes !!!! polydactyl ....that's the word. I didn't know that Ernest Hemingway had a polydactyl cat...thanks for the link...I will check it out.
@ nal from miami
Yes, I too was very surprised to see how quickly the cats started using the "cat house". I put a bunch of warm blankets inside...and now with the tarp covering it, they should stay fairly warm on these 20-30' degree nights.
Red~Star (42 months ago | reply)
@ {machel spence}
Thanks for your nice comments. Wow...how awesome to see the cats at the Hemingway's key west estate.....it sounds like there's a lot of them there. Amazing.

Is that humor, or are you just trying to be a troll? I am not the fondest of cats, but the comment is inappropriate.

Rebecca, thanks for helping the feral cats. By having them sterilized, you not only help the cats, but the wild bird population as well.

@ Wandering Sagebrush:
Thanks for commenting. As for "ladyinpink_1" 's comment....she was referring to this gorgeous BOBCAT image that she "captured" in the past: www.flickr.com/photos/28721101@N05/3960005054 /in/set-7215....
As photographers, we need a better word than "SHOOT" ....ha. Sometime it's easy to take the word literally.
Wandering Sagebrush (42 months ago | reply)
Rebecca and Ladyinpink, my apologies. I took the comment literally, and did not stop to think about the multiple definitions of "shot".

Doing a great job, Rebecca! Love hearing about that cat house you so generously provided for these cats - sounds like it must be cosy inside with a pile of blankets. They must be getting use dto you more and more and oh, how they must love the food that you bring with you : ) Always interesting to hear your updates and to see photos of these beautiful creatures. Hope your sister's birthday bash is going/went really well. Wow, what an occasion, if Elvis turned up, too, LOL. Can I send you some wind as well as snow???
