L’île de la Cité, est une île située sur la Seine, en plein cœur de Paris. Elle est considérée comme l'antique berceau de la ville de Paris, autrefois Lutèce. Elle appartient aux 1er et 4e arrondissements. Gui de Bazoches l'évoquait en 1190 comme étant « la tête, le cœur et la moelle de Paris ». Sa superficie est d'environ 22,5 ha. Au 1er janvier 2007, la population de l'île de la Cité est de 1 168 habitants.
