love it. But why am I still afraid of frogs?

ha! I'm TOTALLY afraid of frogs. I could only look at this one from behind the camera. It makes no sense, but still...I can't get all snuggly with them like the kids do. ;)

I used to have a pet toad when I was a little kid. His name was Fred and I absolutely LOVED him. Cried all weekend long when he died. They have a special place in my heart. Spiders, on the other hand... they make me wiggly.

eeeek! I stepped on a toad the other day...thought it would be nice to garden barefoot in the sun...HA that is the last time I do that!

see, now spiders I can handle (for the most part). But frogs? Totally irrationally freaked out by them. Stepping on one would surely keep my shoes on for the summer. ;)
There was a summer that a frog was living in our basement sump pump, and I 'traded' chores with Steve so I didn't have to ever go down there for laundry. Silly frog fears. ;)

The only thing that bugs me about frogs and toads is when they pee on you. That grosses me out. but other than that they are like spiders...they eat the bad bugs and that is welcomed anyday.

I love frogs , we have a marsh area behind the office that is protected because of the resident frogs and birds that live there. I love hearing and occasionally catching a glimpse.

Pretty grey tree frog! We've been catching them to play with every day here. They keep laying eggs in our pool so we've been "rescuing" the eggs and putting them in a large plastic box to watch them grow. We must have HUNDREDS of little tadpoles swimming in there!

I used to be a little skittish with lizards and frogs and such. No more...my kids have broke me from all of it. I even held a snake that my 7 yr old son had caught the other day.

frogs are in severe decline around the world. love them or hate them we need these little guys around and we need to protect them from pesticides and other crap that flows into the water where their little babies breed. ribbit~

WeBees - well, yes of course. Wanting to protect them and knowing how important they are as creatures in the scheme of things can also sometimes live side-by-side with not really wanting to hold them. ;)

he looks like he's just hanging out. READY TO ATTACK, amanda!

nicole - ha! I swear I try to keep my silly little fears to myself. But the kids just KNOW. And they totally mess with me. We have a special 8 year old friend that loves to find 'frog things' to give me. ;) They get me EVERY time.

I think he (she?) is adorable. I didn't used to like frogs at all, but now I love them, along with turtles and salamanders. We found the tiniest little red eft yesterday... love!

What a treasure! Over here, we're counting the days until the high lakes melt and the droves of tadpoles swarm them... Next come the "waves" of baby frogs hopping over the grass. So fun.
