What a tender, powerful photo and post. Both resonate with me deeply. I'm experiencing something akin to this with my own grandmother, and it's got me thinking a lot in the last few years about stories, relationships, photographs, the idea of what's formative ...

I can't say it any better than you did in your incredible post. I do want to add, I guess, that reading the post made me better understand my own drive to document, in words and images - something I've done since I was a child.

      Thank you so much.

beautiful photo and post. I was just saying to myself today...outloud...as I was driving alone.....I wished I could have some more chats with my Grandmother...I wish I would have asked her more questions when she was alive....

amanda, a hug and loving thoughts to you. my mom was early to mid stage when she died and still clearly remembered me, but seeing her forget what happened five minutes before, and all the small unimportant things, like how to open a chap stick, just about leveled me. i can't imagine what the total "un-remembering" of a beautiful history together must be like. lump in my throat for you. such a beautiful post.
