love the colors! the names and the dates...
from from thrifted quilts reincarnated? how
wonderful, love the story you told of them on
your blog. i was so curious!
Meredith, yes! I'm sorry - I realize now that
I never really explained it well online. They
all have pieces of a 100 year old quilt as
the foundation, and each piece has an
embroidered dress on it. Each of those were
inspired by a vintage sewing pattern, and
from there, I created these 'characters' in
my mind - young girls of the era. The year is
the pattern printing, and the name is the
'girl' I made the quilt to represent. The
quilts are about 15" square, and
18" framed.
Okay, so now we all know that I like
imaginary play as much as my children. ;) I
LOVED dreaming up these girls and making them
their quilts!
