Your home comforts me....I think that's an odd thing to say since I've never been to your home. It is obvious so much love has gone into it. Books tucked here and there, music instruments by the hearth, baskets of blocks and wholesome toys, warm floors, sunlight, comfy sofa and chairs , warm wood furniture.... and a sweet family appearing to live life to the fullest!

It just occurred to me that the two of us have almost identical floor plans - except you have that sun porch I covet.

Yes yr home is really workable and livable
you have found a good balance
beauty but real
I am wondering if you speak to setting up kids creative spaces in yr book? I made my local library buy yr book yesterday!

FamilyKeen - Thank you. ;)
Bellablue - yes, and beetgreen's too. Weren't they all built in the 20's?
Turnsharp - yes! There's a whole chapter on that. Yay for libraries!!!

What is your secret for keeping
it so neat? Do you reward
the kids for cleaning up.

We live in 800 sq ft ourselves so I understand the "crowded" feeling ~ yet I like that we are not lost from each in a roomier house :) I love houses that are beautiful homes (like yours) & not showcases ;)

Clearly a house chock full of love and light!
It looks so vast in some of your pictures, thanks to your photography skills. ; )
Gives me a whole new perspective on my own world here.
1st off: we need a bigger couch that we can ALL fit on now that the boys are getting bigger.

honeyflake - totally!! Ha!
*kerflop - I know, sorry. I size them for the blog, and I'm just too lazy to upload two versions of the same photo.
qalballah - good eye! Yes, the fridge was a solstice gift. It's by the same company who made the kitchen - Elves &Angels here in Maine.

So I saw a "camper" in one of your photos. My Charlie is REALLY into RVs and campers....Can you tell me where I might find one?

Thanks so much for posting photos of your lovely comfy home...I find them so inspirational (as well as your crafts and other goodies). My husband and I are in the process of trying to buy our first home; a 30's Tudor-style! We also want to start trying for our first lil' one in the winter and I hope to someday have a home as creative, beautiful, and full of love as yours.

amanda, how does does the white slipcover fare with three busy kids? is it washable?
