i love everything about this. the stark white and then the color. i am jealous of maine and your snow. we've only had one snow NIGHT in georgia this winter.

i wondered what that green thing on the needles was. very nice. and so appropriate for what is, yet again, a snowy day.

      brown/green/blue
      all my favorites.

prettiest.teacup - only one snow NIGHT? My goodness. I can't imagine a winter like that...but I bet you're spending a LOT more time outside than we are right now. I'm a little jealous of that!

beetgreenie - ;) Yup, this is it! On those crazy big needles.

turnsharp - it's red right now! ;) But no - not always.

the spastic self-timer novice in me is trying to figure out how you staged this photo. had it been me, the camera definitely would have ended up in the snow somewhere.
      + your hat is great!

i'm a new york native and oh how i miss the snow! i never took snow for granted. i loved every single time it snowed, especially if it happened at night. MAGIC. in georgia, it's so rare to get snow. that night we had it, i was JUMPING UP AND DOWN, yelling, "IT'S SNOW IT'S SNOW IT'S SNOW!" to my 3 kiddies and my husband. BEST EVER. the kids got to play w/the snow in their bathtubs. lol

this is my favorite photo, the drape of the sweater on your arms and your stance... it's all quite beautiful. like the snow is weighing you down. and that hat! love the pattern of the swirl.. i have a brown one similiar that i unfortunately and sadly did not knit for myself.

Jen - I must admit to doing some crazy self-timer stuff, but I don't mess around with snow and my camera. If I mess up that camera I'm totally screwed. So I'm a little freaky with it.

Steve actually took this shot. And it totally isn't what I asked him to take, but I really really like this. He always does that to me - surprises me with something even better than what I was expecting. Oh, and the ignoring part too. I guess they go hand in hand. ;)

      Thank you Meredith!!

love the hat but also really love the sweater!!!!
fun to read a blog post calling everything in that book "wearable" as
secretly i am very attracted to the book but have read nothing but very
slamming reviews of how you could only wear the stuff in it were you
      very very skinny.

p.s. thanks for the link to soulepapa's photos, found some cool ones n there!

girl reaction - I know that was a criticism of her first book, in particular. (NONE of the patterns in the first book would have fit me!). But I think they really corrected that in her second book - the measurements seem like they would really work. I guess I'll see after I make a few more things!

definitely keep us posted on that!! :)
