I must say, Stefani. I've been making it this year by cooking it with the skins still, and it has made my applesauce making life so much happier!

I just quarter the apples, remove the seeds, and cook with a bit of water, a tiny bit of sugar, and cinnamon. When they soften a bit, the skin comes right off and I remove them from the sauce with a fork. Super easy. And good for lazy people like me who do not like to peel. ;)

I even like eating the cooked skins. Yum!

Thanks, Amanda! You're speaking my lazy language!

I've never made applesauce before, but I'm going to have to give it a whirl. I'm willing to bet that it's far better than the slop in the jar. Unfortunately, apple season here is in July. Weird, I know. Who wants applie pie, cider and baked apples in July?

Oh, well, that stinks. Applesauce in July? Just doesn't seem quite right, does it? ;-)
