111/365 Subversion #01: The future of war

In the mildly distant future, we see Guard Commander Reeves. He is wearing the latest "Scarecrow" light exoskeleton, equipped with two pulse cannons with independent "Red Eye II" targetting systems. With only a thought, he can direct fiery pulses of energy at his target. If that's not enough, he carries a "Red Dwarf" bazookoid in his left hand and a vibro-mattock in his right hand in case things get personal.

To his side, we see Corporal Jones, in the most recent "Shrub" class bio-camo suit. Well, no, that's not quite true. You see, the army have discovered that nothing looks quite as much like a bush as ...erm... an actual bush, so the Galactic Navy vessels feature huge hydroponic gardens to grow shrubs in a wide variety of styles for different environs. This particular specimen was grown by Lance Gardener Smith on board the USN Greenfingers. He also has a gun, in case it comes to a shooting war.

Of course, for the sake of this stylistic argument, I am ignoring Grunt 3rd Class Ugg, who is annoyed that his Holo DVD has been interrupted by the main computer of the USN Serious Intervention asking "Destroy entire planet? (Y/N)" as he circles the world in high orbit.

    Just a bit of whimsy...

Strobist: 430EXII on background at 1/64th:24mm, Sto-Fen diffuser. 430EXII handheld at 1/64th:105mm aimed at subject, with a full cut CTO gel. Camera white balance set to tungsten, and obligatory silver foil on the wall... Zing!
