DAY 19 AND 20... TIME FOR A LITTLE COLOR and for a New Year's Santa to bring me a job ("Santa, the clause that refreshes!")

DAY 19 AND 20... TIME FOR A LITTLE COLOR and for a New Year's Santa to bring me a job ("Santa, the clause that refreshes!")

TWO MORE DAYS AT THE 81 year old lady (she still tries to be "a lady" as we were all taught to be when we were young... whether it lasted or not was a chance our mothers took when they advised us "Be a lady, dear. Be a lady") Helping this lady is a pleasure to be of comfort to her since she has more books than she will ever ever read and says to me, sadly, "Diane, what will I ever do with them? What shall I do with them? What shall I do" Of course, I reply, "just be happy. that's all. just be happy. the books are only paper and cloth... they will take care of themselves."

DAY 17 OF ... as was said in Camelot, "I have no plan. I go wherever chance takes me."

DAY 17 OF ... as was said in Camelot, "I have no plan. I go wherever chance takes me."

rectangle triangle circle sunrise yellow light ... THE BEGINNING OF ANOTHER DAY IN A CHILD'S IMAGINATION THAT, EACH DAY, HOLDS IT'S OWN SUMMERTIME ...

A "Kubrick-like space odyssey" rectangle (which is the apartment roof across the way) seemed to jut out to meet a yellow sky and THEN THIS PERFECTLY ROUND SUN APPEARED RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY EYES as if pushed upwards by THE HORIZON'S STRAIGHT EDGE

amazing how when you LOOK AGAIN at life it's wonderfully something new

one may like to say what is attributed to Stanley Kubrick:
"How could we possibly appreciate the Mona Lisa if Leonardo had written at the bottom of the canvas: 'The lady is smiling because she is hiding a secret from her lover.' This would SHACKLE THE VIEWER TO REALITY, and I don't want this to happen to 2001."

ART AND REALITY ... SOOOO on my way walking up the hill to my job on Day 15, I found a FORTUNE COOKIE on the dirt path. After tearing open its wrapper I read these words "LET REALITY BE REALITY".

Then, THE SAME DAY, at my job to sort out a massive amount of books, I was skimming a random book about Charles Dickens. I read these 1849 words about his involvement in The Hospital for Sick Children in London where there were "Drooping Buds"... I read about his dream-children and "The Little Sufferers of Reality", and I read his words, "A sick child is like a cold summer--a contradiction of terms... But to quench the summer in a child's heart is, Thank God! not easy".

WORKED ON DAY 15 and !6 again at the 81 year old lady with over 3,000 books (including paperbacks that fall apart immediately upon opening, with its paper crumbling beneath your fingers). Booksellers will no longer come to purchase the entire collection to sort out what is valuable for them to keep to sell.

WHILE WORKING at her home (can you imagine being surrounded by books at your fingertips to read-them-all-at-once!) ... one room of philosophy, one of medicine biology (her husband had been a children's surgeon and later on a stem-cell researcher), one room of history, one room of mystery-writers, one room of sociology government politics ala the University of Chicago, one room of named-author novels and poetry, one room of art books and collectibles, and oh my, this could be paradise sitting on a magic rug surrounded by books to sort out by category... yet after 10 hours of it one is tired (very tired) of words. Indeed. Tired of words altogether!

only love is left ... and images...
