NHS specs starting to be worn by children now their sight could be corrected at no charge to the parent.

The styles came out in 1948, and were still the same in the 1970s, many children either pleaded for a pair of frames in a better style that the parents had to pay for, or just refused to wear the NHS styles, thankfully the styles children can get for free now are of much better design, except for the boys that want to look like Harry Potter.
