Chicken Wire Drop

Yesterday we received more than an inch of much needed rain. This is one drop caught on our chicken enclosure that inverts our most scenic oak. Sorry for the noise, I'm looking forward to getting a good macro lens some day.

      Very nice indeed!
I love how the film of water smooths out the twisted metal - awesome capture!

Thanks for your comment Neil. I think my daughter has a good eye. I look forward to seeing a new image on my desktop after she goes out with her camera.

Excellent shot, you've done a really great job of framing the oak in the drop.

I like the reflection on the drop, but I find the overall noise a bit too much. Perhaps next time you could try to reduce the ISO and open the aperture.

One of the more detailed reflections I have ever seen. Also, the way the water merges into the twisted wire is great.

Good image, if a little noisy. If it was me I'd straighten the horizontals, and then flip it vertically so the tree was the right way up. That'd challenge the viewers.

I love the shot, but I have a question about the orientation. Why is the image upside down?

    35. The Unpredictables (77 months ago | reply)

Steve, I'm terrible if physics, but the drop acts as a lens and...

"If object is far from the lens(beyond)the focal point, a real
      inverted image is formed."

    36. maycos60 (77 months ago | reply)

      nice reflection in soft colors

    37. Steve from NJ (77 months ago | reply)

Thanks for the explanation. I think you are seeing the tree through the drop, like a lens. I was thinking it was a reflection. I think it makes sense now.
