Both Ferrari and Porsche have a Prancing Horse in their logo. Are they connected? No one knows, but there is a theory. In 1940, Enzo Ferrari inherited the Prancing horse logo from Italian fighter ace Count Francesco Baracca. Count Baracca was using the Prancing Horse as his badge on his fighter during the First World War. Story here

No one really knew why did Count Francesco Baracca used the Prancing Horse as his symbol? One theory suggested that he adopted the symbol after shooting down a German fighter from the city of Stuttgart. The Coat of Arms of Stuttgart is also a prancing horse similiar to Ferrari's logo.

Coincidently, Porsche comes from Stuttgart and incoprporated the Coat of Arms into their logo. Thus, Porsche has a "Ferrari-looking" prancing horse symbol in their logo.
