      This used to happen at my parents house when i was little, they had big front windows. BUT what we did is get some black paper and cut-out fling bird shapes to stick to the windows, about 7 or 8" in diameter....and IT WORKED!!! They see bigger birds and fly the other way =)

      looks like the little dude who flew into my apartment the other day www.flickr.com/photos/kmasback/3494082801/ ...and I concur about the bird cutouts. It worked wonders at my grandmother's old house.
