Going Gordon Freeman on Criminals' Asses

UPDATE: Hey, I got permission to post an article on GamesRadar, which is where I werk. Spectacular.

    www.gamesradar.com/us/xbox360/game/news/article.jsp?secti...

After the third time my car was broken into, I decided it was time to send a message. I ran out of packing tape and it was looking like rain, unfortunately.

Yeah now they are into taking registration and garage door openers. I'd assume since the registration has your address, they can combine the two and be able to break into your garage/house. Maybe the registration also helps with identity theft.

I feel for you. My car has been broken into 9 times in 3 years.

You should bait them with an item on the passenger seat and cover it with industrial strength dye. Then when you see them later with dyed hands you can introduce your Gordon Freeman persona.

As other have said - they take your registration to get your address. I no longer have my registration (or anything else) with an address in my car - keep it in your wallet.

    19. @k!d (54 months ago | reply)

Thats the spirit! You tell em.

    20. Ladarzak (54 months ago | reply)

The purpose for taking your registration is so they can sell your car to someone else. It can also be helpful in stealing your identity and selling your house. That's why there were reports over the past couple of years (in Canada) advising people to keep a photocopy of the ownership papers in the glove box, and the original at home.

    21. phil gaulrapp (54 months ago | reply)

they need the title to sell the car. the registration card will not help them.

That blows dude. I definitely feel your pain....my car was broken into three times. Two of those times they stole the stereo out of the dash. One time they stole my camera which had 650+ pics of my trip to Europe :(

The title would be more effective if you were to correct the apostrophe's position: criminals'

Unless, of course, there is only one criminal with more than one ass. If that's the case, please post a picture when you catch him.

    31. Bill Stagg (54 months ago | reply)

ha ha, this is great. but what if the criminal cant read?

OH i put a note like this behind my head unit after the last time i replaced it! But then later my whole car was stolen and stripped. The assholes got the message and scratched a reply back to me in the paint on the door. I hate theives, but I got a new (to me) car out of the deal.

    34. matt.erasmus (54 months ago | reply)

At least in South Africa they're decent enough to steal the entire car :D

Lardarzak brought up a good point. A few years ago in British Columbia there was a car theft ring busted that would break into cars for the registration, and then the alleged ringleader (a 16 year old girl) would use the paperwork to transfer and sell the car. I imagine the real ringleader wasn't 16, and was simply using someone who would be prosecuted as a minor to take the fall. 16 year old crime kingpins also make for good newspaper sales.

    43. dee aytch (54 months ago | reply)

the real lesson is, do not leave shit in your car to where people can see it, put it in the trunk and disable the latch.
