I was thinking Zebra Finch when I found him, but no - thanks to Marg I know now.....
The Common Waxbill, a beautiful finch also known as the St. Helena Waxbill. The Common Waxbill feeds on grass seeds, fruit flies, and small worms.

This is in Porto Belo, Brazil.

Several exposures of him on the ground - but this is the crispest, several with his partner in the trees - - but the shadows were just too much to get a decent picture.

Southern Lapwing - - NEW bird for me - - had never seen nor pictured one of these beauties.

Saw them twice in a span of 48 hours, once on the beach in Porto Belo,Brazil and then on this occasion in Punta del Este, Uruguay.

Several exposures of differing poses on both occasion - but I like this one - not as stark as the beach shot.

Magic (ISO 640, 100MM, F7.1 1/640) Canon 7D, 100-400 MM L lens

Its MAGIC how the leaf is simply floating in the air - - it actually didn't move at all.

It doesn't totally look like magic - - I didn't direct enough - wanted more of a magician waving 2 hands - - but my model was hot & tired.

Took 2 exposures and she was out of there - - the end of the Gold Exploration trail was near.
