      Pilikula is a local zoo and wildlife conservation park. Mangalore city is close to the Western Ghats, which has rich biodiversity. frequently, due to humans encroaching into the forests, or due to animals venturing out - they get stranded in small towns around the Ghats. Mangalore & Shimoga which are on either side of the Western Ghats have Wildlife parks that also double up as conservation points too. Karkala, where Shiva lives is on the edge of the western ghats - the variety of birds is remarkable. we also find the king of snakes the King Cobra. Pilikula also houses the stray or captured King Cobras, the park has successfully bred the King Cobra and released into the wild.
