    I was going to call him a lotus eater, but his posture is so good that he is way off being one of those island loafers. Gaugin would have painted him, maybe not as well as we see him in this lovely photograph.

    thanks so much, all! yeah, mr. topless. i hope people realize i don't dress him down for shots, it's what he's wearing 90% of the time. plus clothes end up leaving their own message, so it seems to work better. as far as french class and beads, they were studying mardi gras for at least a week. it's intro conversational french, and they did stuff like hold festivals in the younger classrooms and have crepe breakfasts! hey, if my pre-latin class had been throwing pig roasts and chariot races, i wouldn't have gotten a D! thank you (and love the gaugin connection!).
