Dad's '38 Olds

My dad really liked his cars. He strove to stay up to date. I remember that he usually changed cars every two years at the least. He was a GM man through and through.

We don't often get winters like this any more.

Hard for me to believe that this photo was taken almost seventy years ago. Dad died in 1954, when I was 8.

Thank you, Rob. I took a PS course many years ago, but let it slide. I'm starting to get a feel for it again, and am quite enjoying messing with it. I will going back through my photostream and pulling stuff that needs a pp boost.

What a great old car - and memories attached.
I'm noting the left hand drive here, and remembering my Dad had left hand drive for a while with an ex US army jeep (around 1950?) - not too many of those around in Scotland - but it was great for going over rough dirt tracks in the hills.

I have some old pictures of my dad when he was a fisherman in Alaska. People and places no one seems to know. I wish he could tell me who is seen.

awesome car and amazing how the photos held up over the years

my grandfather had to have a new car every 2 yrs .. it was the thing ... to show you were doing well for yourself and lets face facts, were weren't usually stranded on the side of the road with a break down when the car was never older than 2 years old lol

Some of post dad photos others post their cars. Whatever you post it shows the love and good memories you had of your dad. Its sad that you lost him at such a tender age. My dad died when I was 15 and I really missed him. This is one classic car and I love how you "restored" that old photo. Great job! Hugs, JJ
