Love
The advantage of the other apes is that they know how to live in love. They have not yet invented any religions or political parties. Explore, #26 August 8.. View large so you can see the little guy's teeth jutting out.

Love how these orangutangs was captured in this shot! They look so relax!!! :) ....and they do seem to be acting like humans expressing their tenderness and love for each other!

Thanks, Robert. #26 in Explore today. I like the black and whites of the apes, also, but most people like color (as you know). I decided I am going to make nice prints of the black and whites. I have already made prints on Velvet FIne Art paper of these orangs.
See you later, Dr. Bob.
Also, thank you trizales.

This is incredible, Michael. I'm so happy you have chances like this to take great pictures. I don't think I've ever even seen a monkey, yet alone an orang!
I love the black and whites, but there is something very emotional and striking in this colored one. No wonder so many people have faved it! It's precious.
budderflyman (58 months ago | reply)
Well, thanks, Jenni
Orangs, chimps, bonobos, gorillas, humans, mandrils, baboons are all apes, not monkeys. We probably all descended from an ape like ancestor that long ago died out.
JenniPenni (58 months ago | reply)
I just have always thought there were more monkeys around zoos than apes, but I might be wrong. Haven't been in many zoos and not in a single big one. So monkey was just to say that I haven't seen even them, yet along apes (that I see every day though) :)
budderflyman (58 months ago | reply)
There are indeed more monkeys than apes as there are more monkeys in the wild than apes. Monkeys have more progeny than apes. They are faster, smaller, and more arboreal, and not hunted as much by poachers.
I am, on the whole, against zoos. I am against caging up animals. For some hunted animals, however, zoos are refuges.
